Referendum Text

The upcoming March 17 general primary election will include this advisory referendum question regarding the Glencoe Public Library: “Shall the Village of Glencoe, Cook County, Illinois, provide funds to expand, renovate, repair and equip the Glencoe Public Library building and issue it bonds to the amount of $17,500,000 for the purpose thereof?”


Referendum Timeline

Early in-person and mail-in ballot voting is underway in Suburban Cook County. See below for early and Election Day in-person voting locations.


December 17th, 2025

First day to apply for a vote by mail ballot.


February 5th, 2026

First day to vote early or by mail.


Mid-February, 2026

Mail-in ballots mailed on a rolling basis.


February 17th, 2026

Last day for regular (paper) voter registration.


February 18th, 2026

Early voting and grace period for voter registration begins and continues through election day.


March 1st, 2026

Last day for online voter registration. Grace period registration is still available at election authority and early voting sites.


March 12th, 2026

Last day for election authority to receive vote by mail applications.


March 17th, 2026

Election Day! Polls are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Early in-person voting locations convenient to Glencoe include:

  • Robert Crown Center, Evanston
  • Glenview Village Hall, Glenview
  • Northbrook Village Hall, Northbrook
  • Oakton Community College, Skokie
  • Skokie Courthouse, Skokie
  • Wilmette Park District, Wilmette

Visit the Cook County Clerk’s website for details on these and other locations, as well as opening hours. NOTE: Only selected sites including Skokie Courthouse are open starting February 18th; most locations open March 2nd. Opening hours vary throughout the voting cycle, so please check dates and hours before going voting early.
