The Glencoe Public Library Foundation was established in September 2025 to receive donations in support of the library’s initiative to fund a major structural renovation and 4,000-square-foot expansion of the 1941 library building. The Foundation’s goal is to raise $2.5 million in private funds to bolster the voter-approved issuance of $17.5 million in general obligation funds.
As of August 2026, the Foundation has raised $1.9 million in donations and pledges. The foundation continues to support the Library by hosting shopping days, sponsoring fundraisers like Lemon-Aid stand day, and through donor outreach.
When the renovation is completed, the Foundation will continue to support capital improvement projects identified by the library’s board of trustees and the community. Please note that the foundation’s role differs from that of the Friends of the Glencoe Public Library. The Friends’ primary goal is to provide money for programming and library materials to enhance the patron experience.
The Foundation is still seeking donations to meet its fund raising goal. Your donation is a powerful way to invest in the future of our very special library. You can learn about donor recognition and ways to donate, download a PDF pledge/donation form, or make an online pledge or credit card donation. Please address questions to contact@gplf60022.org.
